Introduction

This set of articles will describe how to setup the uvuyo environment to run PoCs in a SaaS environment. We are currently setting up PoC environments in AWS using podman. The PoC environments will not be setup in an HA mode. The intend of the PoC setup is that customers have a quick access to an uvuyo installation with minimal effort. The steps needed to setup a PoC environment are currently still manual but might be automated in the future.

To setup a PoC environment the following steps are necessary.

Setup the common Service #

The common services are the services that can be shared among various uvuyo installations. These are the elasicsearch database and the kafka messaging service (including the zookeeper service) uvuyo uses the concept of tenantIDs to allow multiple uvuyo installations with different tenant IDs to share the same common services. Not every PoC installation must go through this step. The idea is that multiple PoC installations share the same common services.

For more information about how to setup the common services see Setup Common Services

Setup the uvuyo Service #

The uvuyo service is the actual microservice that hosts the endpoints and the event engine to exchange data between systems. One microservice is setup per PoC environment.

For more information about how to setup the uvuyo service see Setup uvuyo service

Setup the IP #

To access the uvuyo stack from the internet we need to setup an elastic IP and register the IP in Route 53 so that the uvuyo installation can be found from the internet.

For more information about how to setup the IP see Setup Public IP

Get a certificate #

To setup SSL for the site we need to get a certificate. We are using let’s encrypt to get certificates. For more information on how to get a certificate from let’s encrypt see Let’s Encrypt.

Setup SSL #

Uvuyo uses SSL to communicate. We need to setup SSL for the uvuyo microservice so that we can guarantee secure communication to the uvuyo service.

For more information about how to setup SSL see Setup SSL

Setup License #

Uvuyo uses a license key to ensure that only authorized entities can access the system. We will need to install a license key to limit access.

Before you can install the license key you need to generate a license key. You can find more information on how to generate a license key in this article: Generating uvuyo License Key

After you have generated the license key you need to install the license key. Follow the instructions in the following article to install the license key generate: Installing License Key

Change Admin Password #

Uvuyo currently only has one user. For a PoC we need to set a password different from the default passwort to ensure that the PoC environment can only be accessed by authorized used.
